    Slight clarification:
-The two cheaper screen protectors, don't claim to be level 9 in hardness specifically, but claim to be "9H". The point I should have added is that 9H is not the same as 9, and that 9H is MUCH weaker, but is used by these companies because it sounds a lot like "level 9", when it actually isn't - which you'll see demonstrated in the video.
Thanks for watching once again, really appreciate it ❤️

I am not happy with the Bricktest... The Camera sticks out of the Phone, so the surface where the force ist traveling is most likely go through a single spot (camera).
You should place the phone somewhere, where the camera is cut out, to only test the Glass and not the whole durability of the phone... But still great video!

Except screen protectos DO NOT protect against impacts. That's what cases are for. Replaced enough phone screens to know this. There's about 50/50 split of broken phones with and without glass on them. Get a screen protector if you're squeamish about scratches, that's it.

Good review but not sure destroying phones really proved anything b/c dropping a brick on one would exert forces more on the entire phone and a screen protector is not, in any universe, advertised to protect the entire phone. They are for general scratch protection and light impact (keys in pocket, maybe a drop, etc.) Why not drive a car over them? Or shoot them with a gun/bb rifle? ;)

Well, dropping a brick will not only add weight, which is what we want. But also add force to the equation since the phone is on a flat surface pressure will be added as well. Normally we usually drop our phone from tables, hands or might get thrown.

  • Emiliyan Yankov

The whole point of a screen protector is to absorb the impact and crack/break without damaging the screen underneath. Duh. That said, plastic & sapphire protectors are useless no matter the cost. They are too strong and end up transferring the impact force straight to your screen. You can easily end up with an intact protector and a broken screen. Ouch, the irony! Get a pack of cheap glass protectors and every time you crack or scratch it just replace with a new one. If you continue using your phone with a broken protector dirt and debris get stuck in the cracks, go underneath and scratch your screen. Same goes for protectors that are peeling off around the edges. Hence the get a *pack* part. Use common sense, save money and enjoy your phone - ez pz. ✌

Here's my experience. First screen protector I ever owned.
I was at the Beach taking video of the waves when one made me slip and fall into the water. Of course my phone got soaked and was ruined. I went to the mobile store and explained to the woman what happened and that I really didn't have enough money to replace my phone at that time. I said what kind of deal can I get? She gave me a great deal. Telling me, buy your phone and I will not only knock off $10 but give you a free back cover case. We have screen protectors if you want one those to. I told her how much are those? She went in the back to get everything then come to find out, she explained they were all out of their more expensive screen protectors that the one I could get was only $6.99. So she decided you know what I will just throw that in as well. I got it for free. So to make the long story short.
As time went on, one day, I was in a parking lot when my phone started ringing. As I was trying to get it out of my purse to pick up the call, it suddenly slipped out of my hand. I herd the loud crack and looked down to see the screen shattered right in the middle. I though my phone was ruined only when I went to pick it up off the ground, I then noticed after pulling off the screen protector, There was not a nick, dent, not even so much as a scratch on my screen or anywhere on my phone. I was shocked being how cheap the screen protector was. It saved my phone.
Moral of the Story. You do not need to buy an $80 screen protector to keep your phone protected, the screen protector may crack and break, yet still save your phone from damage.

First, it’s very hard to install these screen protectors, it’s taken me a long time but now I can do it and have some tricks and special equipment up my sleeve. Second the goal of these screen protectors is to break when they are dropped, distributing that force through the crystalline material until diffused, sacrificing the protector to protect your much more expensive phone. When your phone gets dropped on a rock, something needs to break. It’s physics.

So where can I find, myself a gorilla 3 type glass screen protector

  • Layput

    5 hari yang lalu

Well, I'm sorry but Arun has the wrong idea about protectors and glass protectors in general.
The glass protectors are there to protect against scratches and every one of them served its purpose and buying an $80 sapphire is still justifiable.
Glass relies on its hardness. Hard substances tend to be brittle because they have no elasticity. Malleable substances on the other hand, such as steel and rubber, have excellent elastic properties, that's why they are more suitable against impact protection.
Sapphire on the other hand has the best blend of hardness and elasticity. Although it's elasticity is low, it is not zero. That's why it is also used on watch dials.
It is still highly advisable and highly recommendable to use a glass protection against scratches, and case protectors, such as silicone or rubber against impact. Rubber and Silicone absorb impact forces that's why they can protect your devices from falling.
But I don't see spending $40 dollars on a protector unless it is sapphire.
Buy 10 pieces of $1 protector and replace it everytime you see a scratch, which would be highly unlikely since you won't deliberately subject your phone to scratches.

If you wanted the Brick test to simulate real world conditions, you should have used one at a similar weight to the phone. It is far more likely you will drop the phone than to drop an exceedingly heavy object on it. The scratch test I feel was a good representation of actual durability.

The sapphire one is convenience. If you put your phone and keys in the same pocket and you can't stand scratches you will have to replace the screen daily. After 80 days the sapphire one is cheaper, and it only required mounting once. For the 1000 phone people, using an 80 dollar protector actually makes some sense. The reason for buying the phone is probably "why take compromises when you can spend a couple hundred to get the best experience?" In that mindset premium scratch resistance is worth it.

Good review but the third test is not realistic. I think it would be easy and more useful to have implemented a drop test from a high self for example at 1,5 meters and push the phone gently, little by little, with the same force and speed, until the fall. That way I think you get the same way of falling for the three
