currently have an S10 but my previous phone (and first/only LG phone) was the G6. other than the poor camera, i quite enjoyed it. specs wise it was on par with the S7. only annoyance was how long it took to get any major updates compared to the competition

I love my Knock knock, IR Blaster, dual screens, and all the cool stuff that LG did. I am SO sad that they are not expanding their phone market... I do NOT want an iPhone or a iPhone knock-off (Samsung). Every phone had a expandable MicroSD up to 2Tb's since the LG-G4. I hope they take like 5 years to re-evaluate & then come out with a KILLER phone in the future. I will throw my money at them.

I liked the LG phones that I had. Unfortunately, the last one that I got had a faulty system board (as did thousands of others), which was the G3. LG was aware of this, but decided to not be proactive; no recall, no parts made available locally. So when my phone died, I had to ship it to Texas, and had to borrow a phone from a friend (yeah, they didn't even get me a loaner) for about 10 days. I will never buy another LG product because of this. So, no, I wouldn't say LG phones died a hero.

Get over it bro, the G4 had a known defect, LG fixed those phones for free up to a certain point. Samsung Note 7 battery explode and caught on fire, nobody ever remembers that. Apple slowed down everyone's iPhones. LG phones have never bootlooped again and they were giving 2 year warranties on their phones just to win back people's trust.

Tech reviewers like MKBHD trash LG so that somebody could be the "fall guy".. they criticize LG too much and review their phones unfairly, while with Apple and Samsung, they go easy on them and rarely ever mention their flaws. So in reality, I'd say it's partly mainstream tech reviewers who were too eager to get more views and clicks rather than actually do a full review (not just highlighting what they dislike, but they needed to talk about some of the things that make it better than the competition)

The biggest loser in this smartphone war isn't LG, the biggest loser is US, the consumers! LG was the one that kept the other guys on their toes.. they were first to put a wide angle camera on the LG G5.. this forced other phones to adopt it. Now that LG is out the game, companies like Samsung and Apple are gonna do whatever the F they want and there nothing we can do about it.. remove features every single year (no charging port on the next iPhone, that is scary to me.. Samsung removed the micro SD slot). Only if LG were around, Samsung would be morr hesitant to remove features because it would shift customers to LG phones which has these features.. now that LG is gone, Samsung is going to strip away more features, giving you less and charging you more. It's a corporate monopoly dictatorship basically, now that LG lost, we lose.

  • Yeah Okay

    Yeah Okay

    Hari Yang lalu

Naw, LG failed do to Apple great ability to trick consumers into a belief. Apple created a false perception which is *Only rich and wealthy can afford Apple. Having a iPhone is a status symbol which validates you amongst the elite.*
People fell hard for it. I use both and the only GREAT thing about a iPhone is the app market (do to most apps being i0s) and the SYNC. Other than that ANDROID IS KING!!!!

The writing is on the wall at least from a profitability standpoint for all smartphones. There's just isn't a lot of innovation to force consumers to upgrade which means you'll see more deals (lower profit). Yearly we are getting a processor bump, maybe a higher resolution screen, a higher resolution camera and that's about it. Foldable phones are interesting, but only the MS Surface Phone uses its screen to a benefit, not just a tablet screen. LG is moving to greener pastures building 2 - 35GWh+ battery plants with General Motors. Continued guaranteed profit yearly will keep them going.

It is a pitty...I worked 20 years for this company which has really excellent engineers creating very innovative products. But the biggest pain point this company has is the marketing and the production planning.
How often did they make some market launch campagns and then there was no product available. And they still insist on specs marketing. And if a product is not succesfull they drop it very soon.

Lg makes up 4.4% of the U.S. smart phone market, so this isn't a surprise. What is a surprise is that even though they only have 4.4% market share in the U.S., that is 3rd place after Apple at 59.97% and Samsung at 24.38% according to statcounter. Apple almost has a monopoly. When 85% of the smartphone market share in the U.S. is by only 2 companies, that's not good for innovation or the consumer in my opinion. It seems impossible for a startup phone company, especially one that tries to make its own app store, to happen.
